Sorrento Lemon - Handcrafted Encaustic Art Tile
Sorrento — Handcrafted Encaustic Tile
A tile born from sun-washed memories, slow holidays, and the simple pleasure of good food shared outdoors.
Sorrento is a circular encaustic tile inspired by summers on the Amalfi Coast — lemons hanging heavy on the trees, slices cut and shared and the ritual of making food together. Designed as both artwork and architectural detail, this piece was originally commissioned to sit proudly on a hand-built garden pizza oven, where craft, memory and heat come together
At its centre is a bright yellow lemon with green leaves and sky blue inlay, all set against a clean white body. Alongside it, a lemon slice is cleverly divided into eight segments — a subtle nod to a sliced pizza — blending humour, storytelling, and design into a single enduring tile.

Please Note: All of our encaustic tiles are handmade using traditional techniques. This means you may see subtle variations in colour, texture, and pattern, along with small irregularities that reflect the maker’s hand. These are not defects, but natural characteristics of the craft; each tile is unique, with its own character and individuality. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same and this is part of what makes handcrafted encaustic tiles so special.
